The Rutgers football season ticket base dropped about 16 percent as athletics deals with fallout from a two-win 2016 season and the unpopular decision to move a home game to Yankee Stadium.
Rutgers had 23,871 season tickets sold as of earlier this month, according to data obtained by NJ Advance Media through an Open Public Records Act request.
That represents a nearly 24 percent decrease from 31,168 season tickets in 2015, off the high of an eight-win debut season in the Big Ten and before back-to-back losing seasons.
Rutgers sold 28,478 season tickets last year for Chris Ash's first season as head coach, according to data provided by the school in 2016.
