CLEVELAND -- Scott DelVecchio fell a win short of All-American status a year ago.
The senior was not about to have his college career end in the same fashion.
DelVecchio rallied late in his 133-pound blood round bout to stun Drexel's A.J. DeSanto in sudden victory, 8-6, and become the 16th All-American in Rutgers history on Friday night at the 2018 NCAA Championships at Quicken Loans Arena.
DelVecchio, who trailed DeSanto 6-3 with 30 seconds left in regulation, is Rutgers' second All-American of the tournament, joining 125-pound national finalist Nick Suriano. It is the third straight season the Scarlet Knights have had two All-Americans.
