EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Rutgers has no wrestlers in the final round of the 2018 Big Ten Championships, nor any upsets to hang its hat on after the first day of the tournament.
The Scarlet Knights have only two wrestlers still in contention for a third-place finish at their weight. Just five will place in the top-8 overall, with one of their best wrestlers having missed the podium to throw his NCAA Championships fate into the hands of the at-large selection committee. Four others have already seen their seasons end bar something unexpected, and Rutgers is buried in the team title race at 11th.
