ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Can a 21-point loss be a "good" loss? In most cases, the answer is an emphatic no, but when you lose to the same team a year earlier by 78 points on your home field? That might be the rare exception.
Rutgers wasn't celebrating its 35-14 loss against Michigan on Saturday, but the players and coaches looked at the performance as progress, even if it was certainly imperfect.
"Obviously this game was a 78-0 game last year and we did get beat up on both sides of the ball last year," head coach Chris Ash said.
