PISCATAWAY -- Rutgers has been playing in the Big Ten since 2014. On Monday, Johnathan Lewis became the first player to accomplish something.
The 6-3, 240-pounder out of St. Peter's Prep became the first Scarlet Knight to earn a Big Ten Freshman of the Week accolade, sharing the honor with Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins.
Lewis earned the Big Ten weekly nod after accounting for five touchdowns in Rutgers' 65-0 shutout of Morgan State.
Lewis rushed for four touchdowns -- the most by a Rutgers quarterback in a game in program history -- and throwing for another score.
