Shelton Applewhite, a 6-4, 190-pound three-star quarterback, and one of N.J.'s top athletes for 2018, is transferring from DePaul (Wayne, N.J.) to Paramus (N.J.) Catholic for his senior high school year.
Applewhite says he's making the move do to a change of address as well as a desire for a particular curriculum, but feels it also makes sense from a football standpoint.
In 2015, Applewhite threw for 1,262 passing yards and 16 touchdowns, adding 261 rushing yards and two additional scores on the ground. His efforts that year helped the Spartans capture the North Jersey, Non-Public, Group 3 sectional championship during a game played at Rutgers' High Point Solutions Stadium.
