COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Rutgers quarterback Giovanni Rescigno will enter the offseason with a starter's resume and a backup's mindset.
Rescigno started the final five games of the season -- including a 31-13 loss Saturday at Maryland -- and likely would be the starter again if Rutgers played another game next week. Probably even if there was a bowl game next month.
But Rutgers doesn't play again until Sept. 1, 2017 and a lot can happen between now and then, so Rescigno isn't counting his starts before they come.
