Rutgers produces biggest blowout win in 81 years, routs CCNY

Issa Thiam produced his first career double-double, tallying 19 points on 7-for-13 shooting and adding 11 rebounds as Rutgers cruised to a 94-38 rout of City College of New York on Friday night in Piscataway.

The 56-point win over Division III-level CCNY tied the largest margin of victory in program history, matching a 91-35 blowout of Trenton State in December 1936.

"We saw a lot of improvement with a lot of our guys tonight,'' Rutgers coach Steve Pikiell said. "Issa starts the game off and gets a double-double. ... To start off the year 1-0, that was our goal going in.
