The Scarlet Knights held their first intrasquad scrimmage of spring camp last Saturday. While it was closed to the media, coach Chris Ash offered his assessment of intrasquad competition.
"The things that stood out: We played really fast on defense. We talked exceptionally well. We did create a lot of takeaways in our scrimmage. I was really pleased with that,'' Ash said.
That was the good. And now the bad (or the ugly, depending on one's point of view):
"Offensively,'' Ash said, "it wasn’t a very good scrimmage because of what the defense did and how they played.
