Rutgers pitcher Howie Brey picked by Houston Astros in MLB Draft

For the second straight year, a left-handed pitcher from Rutgers was picked on the third day of the Major League Baseball Draft.

Howie Brey, a left-hander who served as Rutgers' ace this spring, was selected by the Houston Astros in the 31st round (pick 937 pick overall) Saturday on the third and final day of the MLB Draft.

"Words can't describe how excited I am for this opportunity,'' Brey said, via ScarletKnights.com. "I want to thank my coaches and teammates at Rutgers, and my family and friends, for supporting me the whole way.
