Standing 6-2, 210 pounds, Millville's (N.J.) Solomon DeShields has the physical gifts coaches covet at the FBS level of play, leading to an early offer from Rutgers. Accompanied to campus by his teammates and coach Dennis Thomas who played running back on the banks, DeShields was shown more about his state school, which was first to offer the talented young athlete.
"Me and a couple of my teammates went to a practice. And then we went to their facility and ate breakfast. Then the head coach had called me into the office and we talked a little bit, and he offered me," DeShields told NJ.
