Monday, Wayne (N.J.) Hills' Jaaron Hayek caught Rutgers head coach Chris Ash by surprise when he pledged to spend four-to-five years on the banks, joining his older brothers Tyler and Hunter, currently freshmen on the squad.
"(Ash) definitely didn't expect it, especially tonight," Jaaron, the 6-1, 180-pounder said Monday evening. "He was pretty excited, pretty fired up to hear about that. He was surprised by the news, he didn't expect it."
Now that he's a Knight, there is work to do to ensure Rutgers is recruiting good depth around the high school junior.
