Rutgers men’s lax inexplicably snubbed in favor of Johns Hopkins for NCAA Tournament

Despite finishing second in the Big Ten during the regular season and second in the conference tournament, the Rutgers men’s lacrosse team wasn’t one of the two teams from its league to earn a NCAA Tournament berth.

Following a 14-8 loss to Maryland in the Big Ten Tournament final Saturday night in Baltimore, Rutgers was on the bubble until 9 p.m. Sunday night when it learned its historic season is over. The 18-team NCAA Tournament field was revealed during an hourlong selection show on ESPNU.

Rutgers finished 11-5 with two marquee wins over perennial power Johns Hopkins.
