Rutgers' logjam at running back: Would Chris Ash redshirt a senior?

CHICAGO -- If you were controlling the Rutgers football team in a video game, the no-brainer coaching strategy would be to redshirt either Josh Hicks or Robert Martin.

Between Martin, Hicks and Miami graduate transfer Gus Edwards, Rutgers has 4,070 career rushing yards yards and 31 offensive touchdowns in its senior class.

There are 16 carries for 53 yards -- all belonging to Trey Sneed -- and no touchdowns among all the junior, sophomore and freshmen running backs combined.

But coach Chris Ash isn't playing a video game.
