Rutgers learns valuable lesson, puts away Cleveland State to improve to 3-0

PISCATAWAY — Steve Pikiell wasn't pleased with how his Rutgers men's basketball team performed in its most recent outing. "Hopefully we’ll learn a lot from this,'' Rutgers coach said after the four-point win over a Central Connecticut State squad picked to finish near the bottom of the Northeast Conference.

The Scarlet Knights learned the lesson, executing offensively and turning up the throttle defensively in building a nine-point halftime lead.

Rutgers didn't let up in the second half, cruising to a 70-38 triumph over Cleveland State on Tuesday night before 3,292 fans at the Rutgers Athletic Center.
