For the second straight year, an injury has cost Izaiah Brown a chance to compete for a National Championship.
On the heels of a Big Ten-record performance, the Rutgers sophomore is pulling out of this weekend's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in College Station, Tex., due to a calf injury, NJ Advance Media has learned.
The circumstances are similar to a year ago, when Brown was forced to scratch from the NCAA Championships after capturing gold in the 400-meter race at the Big Ten event.
Two weeks ago, Brown claimed both the Rutgers and Big Ten record by stopping the watch at 45.
