Rutgers dominated Eastern Michigan from start to finish.
Literally.
The Scarlet Knights scored five seconds into the game and rode an NCAA record-setting first half to a breezy 63-36 blitzing of Eastern Michigan at the RAC in Piscataway on Monday night.
Rutgers held the Eagles to just four points in the first half while building up a commanding lead. It was the lowest-scoring first half in a Division-1 game since the institution of a shot clock in 1986, and it ties the mark for the overall lowest-scoring half in that span.
At the same time, the Scarlet Knights scored the game's first points five seconds into the contest and slapped together a pair of 11-0 runs and a 9-0 run to overwhelm the Eagles by the break.
