EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Rutgers couldn't carry its hot start over to the Big Ten Championships' quarterfinal round.
The Scarlet Knights advanced two wrestlers to Saturday night's conference semifinal round - No. 1 Nick Suriano at 125 pounds and No. 7 Richie Lewis at 165 - but they would have liked to have more after going 2-4 in the quarters with two close losses, none more painful than Scott DelVecchio's last-second 3-1 loss to Nebraska's Jason Renteria at 133 pounds.
BRACKETS: 125 | 133 | 141 | 149 | 157 | 165 | 174 | 184 | 197 | 285
Renteria scored the bout-winning takedown with what appeared to be less than a second left in the third period.
