Playing at Meridian (Miss.) High in the heart of SEC country, Turner looks like the type of player that would have had colleges lining up to offer scholarships. But Turner struggled to attract Power 5 attention and was committed to Louisiana Tech until a signing day flip to Rutgers in February.
"It's because of my size," the 6-foot-1, 285-pound Turner said of his short offer list. "Not too many powerhouse schools are looking for a 6-foot-1 defensive tackle.
