Rutgers football’s redshirt freshman wide receiver Jawuan Harris was named to the Big Ten Network’s 2016 All-Freshman Team. The Big Ten conference doesn’t announce an official All-Freshman team, so Tom Dienhart of BTN makes his own. Harris played in all 12 games for the Scarlet Knights, hauling in 39 catches for 481 yards and three touchdowns.
Cornerback and true freshman Damon Hayes made honorable mention. Hayes made his first career start against Michigan State, registering 10 total tackles, 1 of which for a loss. Hayes recorded his first interception against Minnesota and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown causing a huge momentum swing in a close game.
