The Special Olympics are a very important cause for Rutgers head football coach Kyle Flood, and the Scarlet Knights have participated in the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics of New Jersey (SONJ) for the last several years.
Today, Flood hosted a football camp for 300 middle and high school participants from the SONJ Play Unified School Partnership Program. The youngsters received instruction from Rutgers players and members of the coaching staff, and one camper in particular made a verbal “commitment” to the program.
