In the same week where they lost 3-star running back Johnathan Lovett, Rutgers stayed hot on the recruiting trail, offering scholarships to two 3-star out-of-state prospects. The first was Zion DeBose, a weakside defensive end from North Rowan High School in Spencer, North Carolina. According to 247Sports, DeBose is the 39th ranked WDE and the 25th ranked recruit in the state of North Carolina.
The second offer went to fellow weakside defensive end Tijuan Mason. Mason is a 3-star prospect from Trezevant High School in Memphis, Tennessee. This offer is especially interesting because WDE seems to be a position that Rutgers has some depth at in this recruiting class, and Mason has been committed to Purdue since this past June.
