Rutgers Football Preview: Introduction to the Big Ten not so bad in 2014

If life for Nebraska and Penn State was not as good as expected upon entrance to the Big Ten, most fans and pundits shuddered at what was about to happen to the newest schools in the league — Maryland and Rutgers.

However, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights went on to surprise just about everyone and won more games than they lost. No one had that happening, even in the best of scenarios. That performance led Kyle Flood from the hot seat to a contract extension.

So, as we look back at 2014 for the Scarlet Knights there has to be a sense of celebration over what happened last season.
