The new Rutgers football coaching staff has figured out how to land top quarterbacks.
Johnathan Lewis of St. Peter’s Prep High School in Jersey City – the top-rated dual-threat passer in the state of New Jersey and believed to be the top priority of the coaches – announced Saturday his verbal commitment to the recruiting class of 2017.
“Rutgers felt like home to me, with the spread offense, high tempo, and how close it is to my family,” Lewis told Gannett New Jersey. “I committed to Rutgers because I truly want to rep my state.”
