Rutgers football coaches to earn $2.34M, but how does that compare in Big Ten?

The first Rutgers football coaching staff of the Chris Ash era includes two coordinators whose matching salaries are tied for the second-highest awarded to an assistant coach in school history.

With offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer and defensive coordinator Jay Niemann at the top of the pyramid, the nine new on-field assistant coaches will earn a total of $2.34 million this year, according to information provided by Rutgers athletics in response to an Open Public Records Act request.

2016 #RFootball coaching staff will earn less than the 2015 staff. There's a few catches, of course.
