Rutgers, football assistant coach sued by letterwinner over use of 'Rare Breed' logo

University and one of the school's assistant football coaches has been named in a civil lawsuit involving alleged trademark infringement.

Anger Sports, a Clifton-based athletics apparel company owned by a former Rutgers football letterwinner, is suing Rutgers and Scarlet Knights offensive line/assistant head coach A.J. Blazek, claiming "illegal use'' of its Rare Breed registered logo, according to the suit filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Newark.

Rare Breed is described on its website as a lifestyle apparel company. It is trademarked under the umbrella of Anger Sports, which was founded in 2007 by John Ciurciu.
