Rutgers proved Tuesday night it could hang with an unbeaten Power Five team and that its longtime dormant home arena still has incredible life.

Despite strong performances from Corey Sanders, DeShawn Freeman and Eugene Omoruyi and a home-court advantage provided by deafening noise, Rutgers fell, 78-73, to Florida State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in front of 4,583 at 8,000-seat Rutgers Athletics Center.
