Rutgers struggled in the opening frame, shooting just 37% from the floor and making only 3 of 14 three-point attempts. They also committed 7 turnovers and were outscored 16-12 with points in the paint. Still, Rutgers led 30-27 at the break, despite Maine shooting 46% from the floor. The saving grace was the bench, who outscored Maine’s reserves 17-0.
