Rutgers cruises past Fordham as Corey Sanders eclipses 1,000 points for his career

From the opening tipoff of Rutgers' non-conference affair with Fordham on Tuesday night, there was a buzz each time Corey Sanders attempted a shot.

The junior guard entered the evening three points shy of the 1,000-point plateau for his career. It took Sanders nearly the entire first half to reach the milestone, but he did so in style just before intermission.

With a running one-handed floater in the lane with 35 seconds to play in the first half, Sanders eclipsed the grand achievement.

It was one of many highlights in Rutgers' 75-63 triumph over Fordham before 3,389 fans at the Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway.
