PISCATAWAY -- Don't get Rutgers men's basketball coach Steve Pikiell wrong. The Rutgers men's basketball coach likes Scarlet Knights football coach Chris Ash.
But after watching his recently arrived point guard recruit in action, Pikiell quipped that he may need to fend off Ash from luring Souf Mensah to his football program.
"He's 225 pounds and fast,'' Pikiell said of Mensah, a 6-foot-2 point guard from Marshalltown (Iowa) Community College who enrolled at Rutgers last week. "I just think we've added another good player who can play fast, a physical defender, and a great kid.
