Rutgers coach Kyle Flood suspends WR Leonte Carroo

Rutgers wide receiver Leonte Carroo, who hauled in 55 balls for over 1,000 yards last year, has been suspended after an off-the-field incident following a home loss to Washington State, 34-37 (a team that lost its season opener to Portland State).

Head coach Kyle Flood had no appetite for commenting on the details concerning Carroo’s suspension, but did state that the timeline to return is up in the air pending an investigation. On the bright side, Carroo won’t be alone, since Flood felt obliged to reprimand six other of his players for other violations.

Following his dynamic performance against Norfolk State (3 receptions, 129 yards, 3 TDs), Carroo didn’t show his explosiveness in week two against Washington State of whom kept Carroo in check, surrendering only 54 yards over four receptions.
