Rutgers coach Chris Ash visited Seattle in May ... to scout Pete Carroll, not Washington

Chris Ash visited Seattle in May, but it wasn't to plant spyware at the University of Washington's raucous football stadium.

The first-year Rutgers coach took an opportunity to visit Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, a coach he long has respected. Carroll is a former head coach of the New York Jets, New England Patriots and USC football.

"I went out there to visit the Seahawks for a day just to see the culture that they have there and the organization," Ash said. "I've been really a fan of Pete Carroll for a long, long time.
