The true freshman will remain the Scarlet Knights' quarterback and get his fifth straight start in Saturday's Big Ten home opener against Indiana at HighPoint.com Stadium, head coach Chris Ash said after practice Thursday.
"Art is going to be our quarterback," Ash said. "Art's been our starting quarterback. We have never wavered from that, but we always will evaluate every position when we're not having success. We've done that, and Art is still our quarterback."
Rutgers officially found itself with somewhat of a quarterback controversy Monday when Ash refused to commit to either Sitkowski or Gio Rescigno, the redshirt senior who has replaced Sitkowski in the last three games due to injury or coach's decision.
