PISCATAWAY — Just because his Rutgers men's basketball team is facing a team from the Division II ranks, it doesn't mean that Steve Pikiell expects the Scarlet Knights to overlook their season-opening foe.
"We're not a program in any place to overlook anybody,'' Pikiell said. "So they'll know that, and they already know how I feel about every game is important and we're playing against Rutgers, too. So we're never worried about who the other team is. We're worried about us and playing the right way.''
Pikiell was tapped as the Rutgers coach on March 19 and introduced three days later, but the Pikiell era essentially gets underway tonight as the Scarlet Knights play host to Molloy College.
