PISCATAWAY -- When the season started, it wasn't difficult to envision college football experts installing Rutgers as a slight favorite over Purdue.
Rutgers had one more Big Ten win than Purdue (4-3) from 2014-16 and is hosting Homecoming at noon at High Point Solutions Stadium.
But things have changed -- and VegasInsider.com favors Purdue by eight points looking toward Saturday.
Purdue (3-3, 1-2) is more improved than even its record suggests.
After four straight last-place finishes in the Big Ten West Division, Purdue has wins against Ohio, Minnesota and on the road at Missouri.
