Rutgers assistant coaches coming and going: Who got a raise? Who took a paycut?

Rutgers is stepping up its game in paying assistant coaches.

Two of the three Rutgers football assistant coaches who left during the offseason took pay cuts in their new jobs, according to information obtained by NJ Advance Media in response to Open Public Records Act requests filed at multiple universities.

On the other hand, Rutgers increased the salary at each of the three vacated positions.

The Scarlet Knights ranked last in the Big Ten and No. 51 nationally in terms of combined salary for assistant coaches ($2.34 million) in 2016, according to a USA TODAY database.
