There won't be any Super Bowl rings for Rutgers alums this year.
The New England Patriots lost to the Denver Broncos, 20-18, in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday. The Patriots had five former Scarlet Knights on their roster: Free safety Devin McCourty, strong safety Duron Harmon, cornerback Logan Ryan, linebacker Jonathan Freeny and linebacker Kevin Snyder
The Broncos and the Carolina Panthers will meet in the Super Bowl on Feb. 7. There are no Rutgers alums on either Super Bowl team.
Freeny had a fumble recovery of a lateral by Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning to running back Ronnie Hillman in the first quarter.
