PISCATAWAY – Pat Hobbs reached into his back pocket to pull out the short list of candidates for the next Rutgers football coach and share it with the media.
He was kidding, of course.
But Rutgers second-day athletic director flashed some of the charisma that inspires confidence he will make the right call on the first major decision he faces.
After the laughs in the crowded room at the Louis Brown Athletic Center quieted down, Hobbs said, “No, it wouldn’t be fair to any of the candidates. I’m just going to keep working hard. I’ve been at that since my appointment.
