Rutgers 5 observations: Moral victory should have been a real one against Iowa | Politi

PISCATAWAY — So are you a glass-half full fan? Because if you are, and even if you aren't, you probably signed for a 14-7 game in the Big Ten opener against Iowa given that the home team had a chance to win.

But if you're the type of fan who sees the glass-half empty (and has a tendency to throw said glass against the wall after frustrating losses), then it's hard to shake the feeling that the Scarlet Knights should have been celebrating a 1-0 start in conference play.

There was the fumble by Andre Patton late in the fourth quarter that led to Iowa's go-ahead touchdown.
