With players set to report to fall training camp on July 31st for Rutgers football, we now know of one player on the roster during spring ball that is no longer with the program. Bobby Deren of Scarlet Nation reported late Wednesday night that Zihir Lacewell is transferring to Garden City Community College in Kansas for this coming season.
Lacewell was the third highest rated prospect signed in the 2018 recruiting class for head coach Chris Ash. As a wide receiver last season, he played in four games but mostly on special teams, registering three tackles. It was considered a redshirt season under the rule and he has four years of eligibility remaining.
