A highly-productive pro-style quarterback is transferring from Sacred Heart in Waterbury, Connecticut to one of New Jersey's top parochial schools in the Big North -- Paramus (N.J.) Catholic.
Phillip Dawson, formerly know as Trey, is now a Paladin going into his junior year. And he'll compete with fellow incoming transfer Shelton Applewhite, a rising senior, for the starting job in 2017.
"Its basically gonna be the best 11 plays," the 6-5, 205-pound Dawson told NJ.com. "But he's a different quarterback than I am (more of a dual-threat), so there's gonna be different times for different plays.
