Q & A with Michael Cintron, Rutgers punter who hangs out with NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michael Cintron could enter the Rutgers and Big Ten record books with very little fanfare.

The redshirt sophomore is on pace for 92 punts this season, which would match Mike Barr's total with the 2002 Scarlet Knights and surpass Ryan Donahue's 86 with Iowa in 2007.

Cintron is averaging 37.9 yards on 69 boots, with five touchbacks, 17 fair catches and 13 inside the 20-yard line.

I caught up with him to talk about his friendship with Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns, his support of Breast Cancer Awareness and growing up as a Rutgers fan in Piscataway.
