Pat Hobbs says C. Vivian Stringer expected back on Rutgers sideline next season

PISCATAWAY – C. Vivian Stringer promised changes are coming to the Rutgers women’s basketball program, but those plans don’t include a switch at the top.

Rutgers athletic director Pat Hobbs told Gannett New Jersey that he intends to retain Stringer next season, putting to rest any speculation that he might exercise a clause in her contract that allows for termination without any additional compensation before April 30.

“I haven’t had a chance, with this search, to sit down with her,” Hobbs said at the formal introduction of new men’s basketball coach Steve Pikiell, “but I absolutely expect Coach Stringer to be our coach next season.
