Rutgers Athletics Director Pat Hobbs is all too aware that his predecessor, as well as university President Robert Barchi, issued apology letters to Penn State officials for what they labeled "the offensive actions'' of some Scarlet Knights fans during their first Big Ten game against the Nittany Lions in 2014.
It's why Hobbs has spent this week reaching out to various constituencies in the university community, including fraternities and sororities at their campus houses, in an attempt to allay a repeat incident.
On Thursday, he made his voice even louder with an open letter to the Rutgers fan base.
