The California quarterback was the second recruit of the current 2018 class to commit to the Scarlet Knights, giving head coach Chris Ash his pledge back in May after a two-day unofficial visit to Piscataway.
Chatman spent much of his time as a Rutgers commit as one of two quarterback commits — first alongside Sean Chambers before the two-star signal-caller flipped to Wyoming, and then with Artur Sitkowski after the 4-star NJ native flipped from Miami (Fl.) to Rutgers. Still, Chatman never wavered from his commitment, telling reporters he is “ready to compete” upon arrival.
