PISCATAWAY -- It's not uncharted territory for C. Vivian Stringer to coach a season with the Rutgers women's basketball team's best player on the bench.
But it's not exactly a fond memory in her Hall of Fame career, either.
Rutgers will play the coming season without All-Big Ten selection Tyler Scaife, who is redshirting as she recovers from an undisclosed "routine medical procedure."
It has created an interesting parallel with 2001-02, when future All-American Cappie Pondexter sat out a season because she was academically ineligible. Rutgers finished 9-20 before Pondexter returned and eventually led the way to an Elite Eight.
