No. 22 Rutgers women’s soccer defeats Purdue with a golden goal in overtime

The biggest question regarding the Rutgers women’s soccer team at the start of this season was could they establish a second goal scoring threat to pair with All-American juniior Amirah Ali? Classmate Nneka Moneme has provided that answer, as her seventh goal of the season and third game winner was the difference Thursday night against Purdue at Yurcak Field.

After a scoreless 90 minutes of regulation, it took just 27 seconds into overtime for Moneme to put the ball in the back of the net off a great lead pass from Chantelle Swaby to secure the victory for Rutgers.
