PISCATAWAY — Chris Ash's tenure as Rutgers head coach officially started on Monday and he wasted little time getting to know his new players.
Ash held a meeting with players on Monday morning and made a "great first impression," according to a person familiar with the situation.
This will be the first head coaching job for Ash, who was officially hired on Monday after Rutgers' board of governors approved a five-year contract that will pay the 41-year-old $2 million annually.
Ash informed players of his coaching schemes, which include the aggressive 4-3 defense that was his calling card during his time as a defensive coordinator.
