Over the last 15 years, Piscataway High School has produced more than a dozen major-college recruits, including five players who reached the NFL. But if you ask Dan Higgins which player stands out above the rest, the longtime Chiefs coach is quick to answer.
Higgins says Elijah Barnwell has "had the most impact in the history of Piscataway's football program — by far.'' It's a bold statement, for sure, but the evidence lies in the school-record 5,728 rushing yards over Barnwell's four-year career.

"Rutgers is getting a warrior, a battle-tough kid, and I think that's what (Rutgers) coach (Chris) Ash is looking for,'' Higgins told NJ Advance Media last January.
