Brendan DeVera was a standout quarterback and linebacker at at Wayne Hills High School, leading the perennial New Jersey power to an 11-1 record and an NJSIAA North Jersey 1, Group IV title last fall.
But when the NJ.com first team All-State performer begins contributing for Rutgers this summer, DeVera is expected to contribute as a fullback and an H-back.
That versatility is why Jerry Kill isn't about to label DeVera by any single position. "He’s the definition, to me,'' the Rutgers offensive coordinator said, "of a football player.''
